Inspiring people to persevere through their challenges and pursue their purpose
People are struggling. Whether it is a difficult diagnosis, a troubled home life, or problems at school or in the workplace, life is hard. Every day people are giving up hope and quitting on life; some figuratively and some literally. They need a message of hope. A message of purpose. A reason to keep going.
Jacob "TEN20" Thompson lives and breathes this message every day, sharing it with as many people as he can along the way. Jacob knows about suffering as he lives daily with a life-altering rare disease called Friedreich's Ataxia (FA). Instead of giving up hope, Jacob continues to persevere and uses his gifts and platform to help others do the same.
Through his book, speaking, poetry, music, podcast, blog, and social media content, Jacob points others towards the God that created them, loves them, and sent His only son Jesus to draw them back to Himself. The God who has a plan and a purpose for them. The God who can bring life even out of the most hopeless situations.
For it will not be you speaking but the Spirit of the Father speaking through you - Matthew 10:20
This is Jacob's guiding verse as a speaker, author, and artist in all that he does.
DEAR YOUNG ATHLETE,
For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come - 1 Timothy 4:8
"Dear Young Athlete," is Jacob's ministry specifically to athletes. This ministry bridges the gap between the daily impact of coaches to athletes and the sharing of the good news of Jesus.
Jacob does a podcast interview with a coach who desires to share their faith and testimony with their players. Jacob then speaks to teams and shares his own story, followed by an invitation to both listen to the podcast and read Jacob's book.
Rare disease & Disability advocACY
I was sick and you looked after me
- Matthew 25:36
Having a trike has been life-changing for Jacob; it has given him back a part of himself that he had lost. Once again he has the ability to physically exert himself and even to compete. He is know training with the goal of making the Paralympics.
TEN20 Words aims to find people suffering from rare disease and disability and help them meet a need that may otherwise go unmet, such as gifting them with a trike.
